You have decided to start your own work at home business to
achieve financial freedom? Congratulations! But be careful,
act wise - if not in a couple of months you will only
belong to the many people that end with less money than
when they started.

There are two main keys you have to understand.The first
one is the key to your personal attitude. Treat your
business like a business and not like a spare time hobby.
This is critical whether you are working part-time or full
time, whether you work at home or go to some office. Take
it serious or you will never succeed.

The second key to finding a home based business starts with
knowing yourself. That means knowing what you are good at
and what you do not do well. Be honest with yourself when
doing this. We all are not perfect even if we would all
love to be and we have to accept this fact.. This is very,
very important to you, because picking a business in which
most of the tasks that need to be done are your strengths
will increase your chances of success.

For example you are a bit like me and let's say you are not
much of a talker. You do not like to talk much to. You are
however very well organized and love to write like me. It
would most likely be in your best interest to be an article
writer. They do not require you to do much talking or
calling prospects and customers.

Bearing this in mind decide what kind of home business you
will start. The next thing you will have to know is the
product or service that you will be offering. Get to knwo
every detail possible about it until you got quite familiar
with it. And please remember this: you won't be able to
really successful market a product you don't like. The more
you believe in your product or service, the more you will
sell. Be prepared to answer question about your product! If
you do not believe in what you are doing you will not reach
any of your desired goals. A good idea if you decided to
start as an affiliate will be to become a customer of the
network*marketing company before you join the business as
an affiliate. Try the product, try the service and you will
know if you feel good about it.

Okay you picked a business that relies on your strengths
and a product or service you can believe in now you have to
prepare the start. First you have to choose what your
budget is going to be. Please remember that most home
businesses take at least months before you really start
seeing results off so it is important to keep within a
budget until then.

Before you start to take action, remember to treat your
business as a business, it is not another hobby in your
spare time. Take it serious and think about the last but
important preparations, dont underestimate them. First you
have to set up a separate working space in your home. The
important point ist that you design a little area
completely separated from your living area, so that when
you are working you cannot be distracted. It's not enough
to have a corner with some shaky old table. What you need
is a desktop to stay organized and an inspiring
environment. You have to be creative in realizing your
dreams, so you really need any inspiration you could get.
It sounds basic, but stock your working area with any
materials, tools and resources you might need, this will
save a lot of time. Another essential for you is to stay
organized and that means to develop a schedule that works
for you. Believe me, a good time management will save you
many hours and lots of frustrations. The best approach is
to set your next goals, list them up and than work
backwords to create step by Stepp action plans.

Now your business is running and you can spread the word.
From now on there are two big issues to have a look on
daily: customer relations and marketing. Present a
professional image. Set up a seperate bank account for your
business, install a seperate phone and fax line. Be
courteous and pleasant in all your interactions with your
customers and prospects. If you not already are, become a
person people like to make business with. Be generous if
someone asks for a refund. There is an old proverb: you
can't win a quarrel with your customer.

The second point is to market your business. Marketing is
every action to get customers. There are many forms of
marketing such conservative as newspaper ads, flyers, TV
ads, mailing lists, pay-per-click ads, power-linking, and
many others. And there are others specially working with
internet businesses like viral marketing or networking. How
you market your business is up to you and up to the special
needs of your business. Each technique has its own
strengths and weaknesses. Obviously you will want to keep
your budget in mind when picking a method of marketing.

Diversify your marketing as much as possible, and
remember... the more people see and know your business the
more business you will do. Test and once more, track your
ads in testing different strategies. After some months you
will know quite well which one will not only pull in
visitors to your website or sales page but the best
profits. Continue with this proven methods, provide an
extraordinary service and an excellent product you are
proud on and you will be on track to developing a
sustainable growing home business.
